Daniel Johns is an Australian musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the former frontman of the rock band Silverchair. Born on April 22, 1979, in Newcastle, New South Wales, Johns co-founded Silverchair at the age of 15 with bassist Chris Joannou and drummer Ben Gillies. The band gained international fame in the mid-1990s with their debut album "Frogstomp," which was released in 1995 when the members were still teenagers. Over the years, Silverchair released several successful albums, including "Freak Show," "Neon Ballroom," and "Diorama," showcasing Johns's evolution as a songwriter and musician.
