Daniel Caesar is a Canadian R&B and soul singer-songwriter who has gained widespread acclaim for his emotive music and smooth vocal style. Born Ashton Simmonds on April 5, 1995, in Oshawa, Ontario, he began his career releasing independent EPs, with "Praise Break" in 2014 and "Pilgrim's Paradise" in 2015, which earned him attention for their introspective lyrics and contemporary sound. His breakout came with the release of his debut album "Freudian" in 2017, which included hits like "Get You" featuring Kali Uchis and "Best Part" featuring H.E.R. The album was a critical success and earned him two Grammy nominations, winning one for Best R&B Performance for "Best Part."
