Dale Hawkins

Dale Hawkins

Rockabilly Pioneer

Dale Hawkins was an American rockabilly musician best known for his 1957 hit song "Susie Q," which became a rock and roll classic. Born on August 22, 1936, in Goldmine, Louisiana, Hawkins blended elements of blues, country, and rhythm and blues to create his distinctive sound. His career took off after "Susie Q" was released and subsequently covered by various artists, including Creedence Clearwater Revival, whose version also gained significant popularity.
