Crystal Stilts is an American indie rock band that emerged from the Brooklyn music scene in the mid-2000s. The band was formed by Brad Hargett and JB Townsend, and they are known for their lo-fi aesthetic and blend of post-punk and garage rock influences. Their sound is characterized by Hargett's deep, monotone vocals and the reverb-laden guitar work of Townsend. Crystal Stilts gained recognition with their debut album "Alight of Night" in 2008, which was well-received for its moody atmospherics and retro sensibilities. They followed up with "In Love With Oblivion" in 2011, further refining their sound and solidifying their place in the indie rock landscape. In 2013, they released "Nature Noir," which showcased a slightly more polished approach while maintaining the band's signature dark and echoey vibe. Throughout their career, Crystal Stilts have maintained a cult following and have contributed to the resurgence of interest in post-punk revival sounds.
