Cristina La Veneno

Cristina La Veneno

Spanish Transgender Singer and TV Personality

Spanish vedette, singer and actress born as José Antonio Ortiz Rodríguez in 1964. Born: 19 March 1964 in Adra, Almería, Spain. Died: 9 November 2016 in Madrid, Spain (aged 52). She soon realized she was different to the rest of the boys, and started a sexual reassignment process in the mid-1990's. By that time, she was working as a prostitute in Madrid and had a brief appearance in a TV report about Transvestism. Spanish TV host Pepe Navarro became interested in her due to her beauty and sense of humour, and she soon became a frequent collaborator in his TV show. During that time, she released her first and only single, "Veneno pa tu piel", and recorded two adult films. In 2003 she was sent to prison, and didn't return to the public eye until 2006. Since then, she has appeared on several gossip shows and taken part of the spectacle "Que Trabaje Rita". In 2016, her long-awaited biography "¡Digo! Ni puta ni santa" (written by Valeria Vegas) was eventually released.
