South Korean rapper and singer-songwriter

Lee Chae-rin (Korean: 이채린; born February 26, 1991), better known by her stage name CL ( Korean: 씨엘), is a South Korean rapper, singer and songwriter. She was born in Seoul, South Korea, but spent much of her early life in various places where she learned English, French, and Japanese. In 2009, she debuted along with YG Entertainment label mates Sandara Park, Minzy, and Park Bom as 2NE1. CL has worked with Big Bang, Uhm Jung Hwa, YMGA, and Teddy Park. With 2NE1, she has released two extended plays, 2NE1 and 2NE1 2nd Mini Album, and one full length album, To Anyone. Her duet song with Minzy, "Please Don't Go," peaked at number 6 on the monthly Gaon Chart in November, 2009. On May 28, 2013, her first solo single, 나쁜 기집애 was released. In 2015, following 2NE1's hiatus, CL debut as a solo artist in the United States. In May 2015, she featured in Diplo's single, Doctor Pepper. In November 2015, she released the single Hello Bitches. In November 2016, YG Entertainment announce 2NE1's disbandment after 2 years of hiatus. CL remained at YG as a solo artist until November 2019. On November 8, 2019, YG Entertainment announced that CL did not renew her contract with the agency. After her departure on December 4, CL began releasing unreleased tracks for her new EP, In Name Of Love, for three consecutive weeks.
