Chorus Viennensis

Chorus Viennensis

Austrian Male Voice Choir

Chorus Viennensis is an all-male classical choral group that originated from the Vienna Boys' Choir, one of the oldest boys' choirs in the world, which dates back to the late Middle Ages. The Chorus Viennensis was formed to include the voices of former members of the Vienna Boys' Choir who had matured into adult singers. This allowed for a broader range of vocal parts and a richer, more diverse sound. The ensemble is known for its performances of traditional Viennese music, including works from the Renaissance and Baroque periods, as well as classical and romantic music. They have contributed to preserving and celebrating Austria's rich musical heritage through their performances and recordings. The choir has performed in various prestigious venues and collaborated with numerous orchestras and conductors, upholding a high standard of choral excellence.
