Carol Douglas

Carol Douglas

Disco and Soul Singer

Carol Douglas is an American singer who gained prominence during the disco era of the mid-1970s. Born on April 7, 1948, in Bedford–Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York, she is best known for her hit single "Doctor's Orders," which was a breakthrough success in the disco genre and brought her international fame. The song was a cover of a British hit and became a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1975. Douglas released several albums throughout her career, including "The Carol Douglas Album" (1975) and "Midnight Love Affair" (1976), which further solidified her place in the disco scene. Her distinctive voice and danceable tracks made her a favorite among disco enthusiasts, and she continued to perform and release music into the 1980s. Despite not maintaining the same level of commercial success as some of her contemporaries, Carol Douglas remains a respected figure in the genre for her contributions to the disco movement.
