Carlo Cossutta was a prominent Italian operatic tenor, known for his powerful voice and dramatic interpretations. Born on April 8, 1932, in Santa Croce del Carso, Italy, he established himself as a leading tenor in the world of opera during the 1970s and 1980s. Cossutta specialized in the Italian repertoire, particularly the works of Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini. He gained international acclaim for his performances in roles such as Otello, Radames in "Aida," and Calaf in "Turandot." His career took him to some of the most prestigious opera houses around the globe, including La Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Royal Opera House in London. Cossutta's vocal technique and passionate delivery left a significant mark on the operatic scene until his death on January 22, 2000.
