Виктор Бунин

Victor Bunin (b. 1936) is a Russian pianist and music educator, son of composer Vladimir Bunin, laureate of the All-Union Competition of Performers (1961), and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1985). He graduated from the Samuil Feinberg class at the Moscow Conservatory in 1961 and received Ph.D. degree under Viktor Merzhanov in 1964. Bunin had been teaching at the Moscow Conservatoire (1964–73), Conservatory of Damascus (1970–72, 1993–2000), and Lebanese National Conservatory (2000–2002) in Beirut. The pianist performed with numerous orchestras, including Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and All-Union Radio State Academic Large Symphony Orchestra. Victor Bunin premiered works by Anatoly Alexandrov, Sergey Razorenov, Igor Rekhin, Anatoly Bykanov, his father Vladimir Bunin and other prominent Russian composers, and appeared on stage with such conductors as Konstantin Ivanov, Boris Khaikin, Vassily Sinaisky, Veronica Dudarova, and Emin Khachaturian. Bunin also wrote various articles and two books about his teacher and distinguished musician Samuil Feinberg.
