Czech Folk-Punk Band

Czech (Moravian) folk-rock group, formed in 1969 in Ostrava, initiated by producer František Trnka. Led by Miroslav Večeřa until 1972, later by Richard Kroczek. Initially focused on (partially progressive) rock adaptations of Slavic folk songs. In late 1970s they also began to perform original prog rock and art rock material, mainly composed and produced by Jan Spálený, later also own compositions by group members. Around 1980 the group has partially merged with the Moravian jazz-rock studio group “Alternativa”. Disbanded probably in early 1980s. Among the ever changing group lineup were vocalists Jindra Viatrová, Henryk Sumera, Jan Matouš, Hana Buštíková, Marie Hanzelková, Zdeněk Mann and Barbora Lišková, musicians Miroslav Večeřa (flute, saxophone, 1969–1972), Pavel Klos (keyboards), Richard Kroczek (guitar, violin), Vlastimil Kučaj (guitar), Aleš Bajger (guitar, 1979–1980), František Tůma (bass guitar), A. Egonidis (bass guitar), Ivan Kožušník (bass guitar), Lubomír Konečný (bass guitar), Jiří Plachý (drums), Jiří Bořuta (drums), V. Hříbek (drums), and others.
