Bruce Liu is a Canadian classical pianist who gained international recognition after winning the prestigious 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland, in 2021. Born in Paris, France, in 1997 to Chinese parents, his full name is Bruce (Xiaoyu) Liu. He began playing piano at a young age and studied at the Montreal Conservatory of Music under Richard Raymond. Liu has performed with various orchestras and at numerous venues around the world, showcasing his deep understanding and interpretation of Chopin's works among other classical repertoire. His victory at the Chopin competition, one of the most coveted titles in the world of classical piano, marked a significant milestone in his career, earning him widespread acclaim and opening doors to international concert stages.
