Beno Blachut

Beno Blachut

Czech Operatic Tenor

Beno Blachut was a prominent Czech operatic tenor, renowned for his powerful voice and dramatic interpretation, particularly within the repertoire of Czech opera. Born on June 14, 1913, in Svatý Kříž (now part of the Czech Republic), he became one of the leading figures in Czech opera after World War II. Blachut's career was closely associated with the National Theatre in Prague, where he performed a wide range of roles from the operatic canon, with a special emphasis on works by Czech composers such as Bedřich Smetana and Antonín Dvořák.
