Back Door

Back Door

Back Door was a pioneering British jazz-rock trio formed in 1971, consisting of Colin Hodgkinson on bass guitar and vocals, Ron Aspery on saxophones and flute, and Tony Hicks on drums. The band was known for their virtuosic instrumental skill and for being one of the few jazz-rock bands at the time to eschew the use of a lead guitarist. Their self-titled debut album "Back Door" was released in 1972, showcasing a distinctive blend of jazz, blues, and rock with a strong emphasis on Hodgkinson's innovative bass playing.
