Portuguese Gothic Metal Band

Ava Inferi was a gothic/doom metal band formed in Almada, Portugal, in 2005 by Norwegian guitarist and songwriter Rune Eriksen, also known for his work with the avant-garde black metal band Mayhem under the stage name Blasphemer. The band's music is characterized by a blend of heavy guitar riffs, atmospheric elements, and the haunting vocals of Carmen Simões. Ava Inferi released their debut album "Burdens" in 2006, which was followed by "The Silhouette" in 2007. They continued to build their discography with "Blood of Bacchus" in 2009 and "Onyx" in 2011. The band's lyrical themes often revolved around darkness, emotion, and mysticism. Despite not achieving mainstream success, Ava Inferi garnered a dedicated following within the metal community for their distinctive sound before eventually disbanding. Their contributions to the genre are remembered by fans for their depth and artistic integrity.
