Heavy Metal Band from New Jersey

Attacker is an American heavy metal band known for their role in the development of the power metal subgenre. Formed in the early 1980s in Weehawken, New Jersey, they were part of the United States' answer to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. The band's debut album, "Battle at Helms Deep," was released in 1985 and is considered a classic among fans of traditional heavy metal. Attacker went through several lineup changes and periods of inactivity over the years but managed to maintain a cult following. They continued to release albums, including "The Second Coming" in 1988 and later offerings such as "Sins of the World" in 2016 and "Armor of the Gods," an EP released in 2018. Despite not achieving mainstream success, Attacker has been praised for their musicianship and contribution to the metal genre, maintaining a dedicated fan base and continuing to perform and record music.
