Archers of Loaf is an indie rock band formed in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, in 1991. The group gained popularity in the underground indie rock scene with their raw sound and energetic performances. The band's original lineup consisted of Eric Bachmann (vocals, guitar), Eric Johnson (guitar), Matt Gentling (bass), and Mark Price (drums). They released their debut album "Icky Mettle" in 1993, which was well-received and is often cited as a classic of the indie rock genre. This was followed by "Vee Vee" in 1995, which continued to build their reputation for catchy, angular melodies and introspective lyrics.
