Ambrose Slade

Ambrose Slade

British rock band from the late 1960s

Ambrose Slade, later known simply as Slade, was a British rock band that formed in 1966. The group originally consisted of Noddy Holder (lead vocals and guitar), Dave Hill (lead guitar), Jim Lea (bass), and Don Powell (drums). They started out under the name 'The N'Betweens' and then changed their name to Ambrose Slade after being signed by the manager Chas Chandler. Their first album, "Beginnings," was released in 1969 but did not achieve significant commercial success.
