Amadeus-Quartett

Amadeus-Quartett

Renowned German-British Classical String Quartet

The Amadeus Quartet was a world-renowned string quartet that was founded in 1947 by four musicians: Norbert Brainin (first violin), Siegmund Nissel (second violin), Peter Schidlof (viola), and Martin Lovett (cello). The quartet was originally based in London and quickly gained fame for their exceptional interpretations of classical and romantic repertoire. They were particularly noted for their performances of Ludwig van Beethoven's string quartets, which are considered some of the most important works in the string quartet genre.
