Albéric Magnard was a French composer, born on June 9, 1865, in Paris, and tragically died on September 3, 1914, at his estate in Baron, Oise during the early days of World War I. He was the son of Francis Magnard, a well-known editor of the French newspaper Le Figaro. Albéric Magnard became known for his strong individual style and his works often reflected his personal convictions and a sense of moral purpose.
