Acheron

Acheron is an American death metal band that was formed in 1988 by Vincent Crowley, who has been the group's consistent driving force and a former member of the band Nocturnus. The band's lyrical content focuses heavily on Satanism, anti-Christianity, and H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. Throughout their career, Acheron has released several albums, with "Rites of the Black Mass" (1992) being one of their most notable early works. This album is particularly known for its incorporation of actual liturgical texts from the Satanic Bible, which are recited as intros to the tracks, giving it a notorious reputation in the metal community.
