Abruptum was a Swedish black metal band formed in 1989 by IT (Tony Särkkä) and All (Jim Berger). Known for their raw and chaotic sound, the band's music is characterized by its extreme nature and the use of unconventional instruments and recording techniques, which aimed to evoke a sense of darkness and evil. Abruptum's members claimed that their work was inspired by genuine occult practices, and they sought to create an atmosphere of terror and malevolence in their recordings.
