Finnish death metal band

Abhorrence is a Finnish death metal band that was formed in 1989. The group is known for being one of the pioneers of the Finnish death metal scene. Their early work, particularly the 1990 demo "Vulgar Necrolatry," had a significant impact on the development of the genre in Finland. After releasing a couple of demos and an EP, the band split up in 1990. Despite their short initial run, Abhorrence's music gained cult status over the years. They eventually reunited in 2012 and have since performed at various festivals and events. In 2018, they released an EP titled "Megalohydrothalassophobic," showcasing their return to the studio with new material after a long hiatus. The band's influence on the Finnish death metal scene remains notable, and they continue to have a dedicated fan base.
