A. Vivaldi

A. Vivaldi

Italian Baroque Composer

Antonio Vivaldi was an Italian Baroque composer, virtuoso violinist, teacher, and cleric. Born in Venice in 1678, he is recognized as one of the greatest Baroque composers, and his influence during his lifetime was widespread across Europe. Vivaldi is best known for his violin concertos, especially "The Four Seasons," which is part of his Op. 8 collection titled "Il cimento dell'armonia e dell'inventione" (The Contest Between Harmony and Invention). This set includes the first four concertos known as "Le quattro stagioni" (The Four Seasons), each representing a different season of the year.
