Václav Hybš is a true legend of Czech pop music of the last 50 years. His orchestra has always been a guarantee of top professionalism and high level of playing. In 2009 the orchestra celebrates its incredible 50th anniversary and on this occasion a 2CD with more than 40 compositions selected and compiled by Václav Hybš himself will be released. It contains not only great pop hits performed by the top Czech popular music artists (Gott, Matuška, Vondráčková, Bílá, Chladil, Hála, Pilarová, Simonová, etc.), but also many other interesting recordings, many of which are released on CD for the first time. Among others, the CD contains great recordings of the Václav Hybš Orchestra with Josef Suk, Jožka Černý and others. There are also the most popular instrumental pieces and especially the legendary New Year's Eve Opera with Karel Gott and Waldemar Matuška from 1974, which is here in full version.
