The album Stay Hungry, released in 1984, was Twisted Sister's third album and is considered one of their best. The first single from the album, "We're Not Gonna Take It", reached No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the fan favorite anthem of the group, known as "The Nation of Twisted Sister ". The album's title track, "Stay Hungry", is a heavy metal song written by the band's lead singer Dee Snider.
