Kôrôlén is a very special collaboration between two true musical titans: the Grammy Award-winning kora player Toumani Diabaté, who hails from Mali, and the world-renowned London Symphony Orchestra, which has become famous worldwide for its classical performances on countless albums, in films and on many stages. Diabaté belongs to a traditional family of griots, singers, poets and instrumentalists; its musical pedigree can be traced back generations. Today, he is known as one of the most creative musicians on the entire African continent, almost single-handedly bringing the iconic sound of the kora to a global audience. He is a great friend of cross-genre collaborations, having so far recorded two Grammy Award-winning albums with desert blues pioneer Ali Farka Tourè and collaborated on various projects with international greats such as Taj Mahal, Björk, Béla Fleck, Damon Albarn and Afrocubism.
