The Weeknd: Dawn FM version on CD in Standard edition. This particular edition was published in USA in publishing company XO in cooperation with Republic Records on 28. January 2022.
Deep, elegant, danceable He's an old hand, but not nearly as old as his new album cover: the Weeknd. After the mega-successes of recent years: 2021's most successful radio single "Save Your Tears" (platinum) and 2020's most successful song "Blinding Lights" (triple platinum), the Canadian R'n'B singer-songwriter is starting a new chapter in 2022 with the release of his fifth LP, Dawn FM, the follow-up to 2020's After Hours, which topped the charts in several countries including Canada, the US and the UK. Here he follows up "Dawn FM". With contributions from Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd, and several notable collaborators including rappers Tyler The Creator and Lil Wayne, producer, composer and jazz legend Quincy Jones, experimental and electronic musician, composer and producer Daniel Lopatin aka Oneohtrix Point Never, and actor and comedian Jim Carrey, a full 16 tracks await. The latter proved to be a big fan of the album back in January when he tweeted: "Listened to 'Dawn FM' last night with my good friend Abel @theweeknd. It was deep and elegant and I danced around the room to it. I'm thrilled to be playing in his symphony." It's a feeling that takes over as soon as you hear the first single: 'Take My Breath' was released on 6 August 2021 and went straight into the top 20 of the German charts. It reached number six in the US and number three in Canada.
Album spans genres Rock, Electronic, Funk / Soul, Non-Music, New Wave, Spoken word, Synthwave, Disco and Contemporary R&B.
