Comeback album with new influences The Rasmus have released eight albums in the last 20 years. However, it's been quiet around the Finnish alternative rockers for a while lately. Their fans have had to wait five whole years for a new album. In 2017, the time was right: "Dark Matters" is the title of the quartet's ninth studio album, the follow-up to their 2012 album of the same name. Lauri Ylönen (vocals, keyboards), Pauli Antero Rantasalmi (guitar), Eero Aleksi Heinonen (bass) and Aki Markus Hakala (drums) recorded ten songs for it. The production was handled by Swedish production team The Family. Already the first single "Paradise", released in March, shows: The Rasmus stay true to their Scandinavian melancholic sound on "Dark Matters" - dark but melodic rock with thoughtful lyrics. However, other musical influences can still be heard on the new album, for example from pop and electronic music. In addition to the standard CD, "Dark Matters" is also available as a deluxe CD with the bonus song "Supernova". Lovers of gramophone records will find their way to the LP or LP on semi-transparent vinyl. The latter is also exclusively available on jpc in a signed version. While stocks last, of course.
