What happened to The Avalanches? That's a question that some people must have asked themselves in the 16 years since the release of their debut "Since I Left You" in 2000. Since then, there have been repeated rumors that the iconic album would be followed by a second full-length. Now, half an eternity later, the time has come: 'Wildflower' will be released on XL. This album is probably the most highly anticipated second album in music history. The track "Wildflower", conceived by Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi, is a wild roller coaster ride through breakneck loops full of samples that will mess with your head with their spastic sounds. Last year's single "Frankie Sinatra" is a fitting insight into the plot, as it creates entire worlds in less than four minutes and is accompanied by a crazy music video. Danny Brown and MF Doom are on board, while Wilmoth Houdini and Rogers & Hammerstein tap the sound carpet. The video was produced by Fleur & Manu (Drake, A$AP Rocky, M83) and shows a handful of New Orleans residents who accidentally come into contact with hallucinogens while on a pilgrimage and lose all contact with reality.
Album spans genres Rock, Electronic, Hip Hop, Experimental, Abstract, Disco and Breaks.
