Stratovarius are one of the most influential and successful power metal bands in the world and have become one of the greats of the metal scene. The Finns have 16 studio albums and more than eleven Top 5 placements to their credit in their native Finland, and in Germany they reached an all-time high chart position of #27 with their latest studio album "Eternal" (2015). Stratovarius effortlessly manage to combine energetic melodies with elaborate arrangements to create bombastic heavy metal tracks. Formed more than 30 years ago under the name "Black Water", the band, whose name is a combination of the words Stratocaster and Stradivarius, released their debut album "Fright Night" in 1989. Between 1997 and 2004, Stratovarius produced their three most successful works to date - "Visions" (1997), "Destiny" (1999) and "Infinite" (2000), full of timeless power metal classics like "Black Diamond" and "Hunting High And Low". With each successive album, the Finns' fan base grew and grew, and even abroad Stratovarius was hailed as the founders of progressive symphonic power metal. And also their current album shines with one of the most streamed power metal tracks "Unbreakable", the catchy "Halcyon Days" and the rocking "Shine In The Dark" - all songs of course can't be missing on a best-of album.
