Reissues of "EVOL", "Sister" and "Confusion Is Sex" will follow. Sonic Youth's second album "Bad Moon Rising" was originally released in 1985 on the Homestead and Blast First labels. The album is a fascinating exploration of "the crossroads where hippie idealism meets the hard, cold world," explains guitarist Lee Ronaldo. "Where Woodstock meets Altamont-Death Valley, Charles Manson, Brian Wilson, musicians, murderers, heroes and villains." The original eight-song backdrop of droning guitar feedback, distant rumbling drums and somber vocals, all held by noise loops in a murky haze, staggers through a long dark night before the feverish "Death Valley '69" hammers the final brick into "Wall Of Noise." Reissued on Goofin' Records, the album includes bonus tracks "Flower" and "Halloween", both taken from the 12" single from the same era. The sound collages "Satan Is Boring" and "Echo Canyon" are the perfect cues to head for the exit and leave the room as soon as possible.
