Roger Waters hits the bull's-eye "Is This The Life We Really Want?" - that's the name of rock legend Roger Waters' new album, which the Pink Floyd founder offers some good food for thought in 2017. At the centre of his musings is our world. A world out of control. The seventy-three-year-old British singer, bassist, guitarist, composer and lyricist has written a total of twelve songs himself, in which he is as political and thoughtful as ever. Is This The Life We Really Want?" was recorded with producer Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Paul McCartney, Beck, U2, R.E.M.). In the studio he was also responsible for the arrangements, sound collages, keyboards and guitars. Roger Waters is further supported musically on the new album by Gus Seyffert (bass, guitars, keyboards), Jonathan Wilson (guitars, keyboards), Joey Waronker (drums), Roger Manning (keyboards), Lee Pardini (keyboards) and Jessica Wolfe and Holly Proctor of American indie-rock band Lucius (vocals). The first preview of the album "Is This The Life We Really Want?" Waters introduced in April with the single "Smell The Roses." The wait is over: after 25 years, Roger Waters will present his new solo album in 2017. "Is This The Life We Really Want?" reaches musically and in content into that era.
