Now and Zen is the sixth studio album by English rock singer Robert Plant , released on 10 October 1988. The album was produced by Tim Palmer, who also produced Plant's previous album The Principle of Moments. Palmer and Plant assembled a group of session musicians to record the album, including Chris Blackwell, Robbie Blunt, Phil Collins and Jimmy Page. The album reached number six on the UK album chart and number thirty-eight on the US "Billboard" 200. The album spawned two UK Top 40 singles, "Heaven Knows" and "Tall Cool One". The album was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry Association and the Recording Industry Association of America. Now and Zen was generally well received by music critics. Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic called it "an excellent album" and Plant's "return to form" in a retrospective review.
