Another Chinese piano star (Yundi Li's recital at this year's Prague Spring Festival was amazing and completely sold out) has just come out: 20-year-old pianist Lang Lang, who is already fully on his professional feet, has won many competitions including the famous Tchaikovsky Competition and has played with many famous conductors (Mehta, Gergiev, Maazel, Rattle, etc.) and orchestras (Kirov, New York Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic). Since Lang Lang won the Tchaikovsky Competition, his debut album on the DG label cannot miss the famous concerto. He then complemented the pomposity of this concerto with an intimate confessional of the Mendelssohn concerto.
