Multi-platinum American rapper, singer and producer Post Malone releases his long-awaited album beerbongs & bentleys, with today's release being one of the biggest events of the year so far.
The album features tracks such as the mega-hit Rockstar, which features a guest appearance from 21 Savage, and has racked up over half a billion views on YouTube, over one billion streams and has held the number one spot on charts around the world for several weeks. On Spotify, it became the song that held the top spot on the Spotify Global chart for the longest time ever, continuously for 114 days, and it stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight straight weeks, something no rap song had managed until then. In the UK, it rewrote history again by becoming the first American hip-hop song to stay at number one for the most consecutive weeks after Run D.M.C.'s iconic single It's Like That, released in 1998.
The album also features guest appearances by Ty Dolla $ign on the previously released hit Psycho, Nicki Minaj on the track Ball For Me, and G-Eazy on the track Same Bitches.
Post Malone received a whopping 13 nominations at this year's Billboard Music Awards, including Top Male Artist, Top Rap Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album and Top Streaming Song.
Post Malone is said to blend country, grunge, R&B and hip-hop in his music, which he complements with his typically laconic vocals. He is particularly famous for the song Congratulations, a collaboration with Migos (t)rap member Quavo, which reached number eight on the Billboard Hot 100. His album Stoney became Universal Music's best-selling debut album of the year, and the artist himself is the eighth most-played artist on Spotify.
