Philip Glass: Dancepieces version on vinyl LP in Standard edition. This particular edition was published in Europe in publishing company Music On Vinyl in cooperation with Sony Classical on 5. February 2021.

"Glasspieces" was first performed in 1983, the suite "In The Upper Room" was premiered in 1986 and both accompanied ballet performances. Only this album features the ensemble version of "Funeral" from the "Akhenaten" album, which was a crowd favorite at Glass concerts in the mid-1980s. Both tracks are performed by several musicians, and in "In the Upper Room" you'll hear conductor Michael Riesman on piano and synthesizer. In addition to the keyboardist, a number of strings, brass and woodwinds also participate. Although this is almost entirely instrumental music, Dora Ohrenstein's voice adds a very pleasant touch to both works.
