Nina Simone: The Complete RCA Albums Collection version on 9CD/Box Set in Remastered edition. This particular edition was published in Europe in publishing company RCA in cooperation with RCA Victor, Legacy and Music On CD on 12. February 2021.
Re-release February 2021! As a promising young talent, she made her debut at the age of 12 at a classical music concert. Her parents, who had originally sat in the front row admiring their daughter, were forced to move to the back of the hall to make room for the white audience. The experience awakened Nina's hope for civil rights activism. She recorded her first studio album for Bethlehem Records in 1958, followed by Colpix and Philips, and RCA Victor in 1967. 'Nuff Said! contains the hits "Ain't Got No - I Got Life" and a cover version of the Bee Gees' "To Love Somebody." After "Mississippi Goddam" from the same album, Simone regularly incorporated civil rights messages into her recordings and spread them in her concerts. In 1969, Simone recorded the song "To Be Young, Gifted And Black", which was later re-recorded by Aretha Franklin and Donny Hathaway. The Clamshell Box Set includes a 34-page booklet with the complete story of Nina Simone, beautiful photos of the artist and background information on all 9 CDs in the RCA collection.
