Muddy Waters' Hard Again album released in 1977 is an example of the blues genre. Recorded in a single day, the album features Waters singing and playing harmonica with a band that includes Pinetop Perkins on piano, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith on drums and Calvin "Fuzz" Jones on bass. All the songs on the album are originals, and the songs are gritty and raw, with Waters' vocals and harmonica in the foreground. The album was well received by critics and was nominated for a Grammy Award.
