American industrial metal band Ministry was founded in 1981 by singer Al Jourgensen. Ministry started out as a new wave synthpop formation, but changed their style in the mid-1980s and became pioneers of industrial metal. "You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up" is the band's live album. The album was first released in 1990 and features a live performance played in Merillville on February 22, 1990. There are six songs on the album, but each is exceptionally good. The energy, manic chaos and order beneath the surface of that chaos is to blame. "The founding members of the Chicago industrial-noise band act like a battalion of bare-armed soldiers on stage. On the six-song "In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up," we hear Mad Dog frontman Al Jourgensen barking over a wall of rock noise that hovers above the pounding rhythms. Wild fun, if you can stand it." (Entertainment Weekly) In 2005, "In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up" was ranked #328 on Rock Hard magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Rock and Metal Albums of All Time.
