Product information Korn is the eponymous debut studio album by American nu-metal band Korn. It was released in 1994, right after the band's tour with Biohazard and House of Pain. The album's themes consisted mainly of drugs and child abuse. Korn was very well received by music critics. The band burst onto the alternative scene practically overnight and is said to have founded nu-metal. The album's frenzy was inspired by bands like Coal Chamber and Limp Bizkit, who emphasized similar grooves and song structures, including some hip hop elements. The album also inspired bands such as Slipknot, Machine Head and Sepultura. The album launched the career of music producer Ross Robinson, who later produced albums such as Three Dollar Bill, Limp Bizkit's Yall and the first two albums by Slipknot. A little over a year after its release, the album went gold in the United States. The album spawned four singles: "Blind", followed by "Need To", "Shoots and Ladders" and "Clown".
