They include drummers Jim Keltner (widely regarded as the world's best session drummer, the man who played with John Lennon and Bob Dylan) and James Gadson (who, as well as producing classic albums by soul star Bill Withers, has drummed on hit records by artists from Gladys Knight to Justin Timberlake). But there are also two selections from the recent past, from New Orleans' The Subdudes (One Word (Peace)) and Andy Fairweather-Lowe (the title track Hymn 4 My Soul). Recorded at Los Angeles' Sunset Sound Studios, sung, played and produced to near perfection, they represent Cocker's best work in years. The last track on the album, the only one not produced by Johns, is Cocker's version of the Beatles' Come Together, which was featured in the Oscar-nominated film Across The Universe.
