Hatfield and the North bylo eponymní debutové album skupiny, kterou tvořili bývalý člen Caravan Richard Sinclair, klávesista Dave Stewart, kytarista Phil Miller a bubeník Pip Pyle, nahrané pro Virgin Records v roce 1973. Na albu, které je považováno za jedno z nejlepších alb canterburského žánru, hostovali také Geoff Leigh ze skupiny Henry Cow a Robert Wyatt, který nazpíval hostující vokály ve skladbě Calyx.

Tato reedice od Esoteric Recordings přidává jako bonusové skladby obě strany písní kapely z roku 1974 a Your Majesty is Like a Cream Donut / Oh What a Lonely Lifetime, které se objevily na sampleru Virgin V a dříve nebyly vydány na CD, spolu s bookletem s restaurovaným obalem a poznámkami Sida Smithe.
