Franz Ferdinand have kept us on our toes for three years, which makes us all the more delighted with "Tonight: Franz Ferdinand", the third LP from Glasgow's Fab Four. Both their 2004 debut and its follow-up "You Could Have It So Much Better" (2005) achieved gold status in Germany. The band recorded the album in their home city of Glasgow and in the London studio of their producer Dan Carey (Hot Chip, Emilia Torrini, Kylie Minogue, Lily Allen among others). Dan's origins and penchant for dub, reggae and breakbeat have done Franz Ferdinand's groove a world of good. In addition, the quartet defend their sunny place on the Britpop Olympus with gorgeous pop melodies, diverse songs and an audible joy to play. The first single "Ulysses" already proves the hit potential of the boys around singer Alex Kapranos.
