Ethereal singer Florence and her indie-rock band The Machine are releasing High As Hope on June 29. The record combines the raw, honest lyrics so typical of Florence + the Machine with an indie-rock rhythm, dreamy backdrops and urgent vocals. Written by Florence Welch herself, who also took on the production duties alongside Emil Haynie (Bruno Mars, Lana Del Rey), Florence + the Machine have received numerous accolades across influential media outlets since their inception in 2007, winning a BRIT Award in the Critics Choice category. The band's music is renowned for its dramatic and eccentric production and in particular the vocals of Florence Welch. The band's debut album, Lungs, held the number two spot on the UK Albums Chart for a full five weeks and remained in the charts for 65 consecutive weeks, making it one of the UK's best-selling albums and a Top 40 success. Upcoming albums were similarly successful in the UK, with How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful sovereignly reaching number one on the US Billboard 200, something no similar British band had managed before. In 2015, the band headlined Glastonbury Festival, making Florence the first female headliner of this century.
