The Circus is the debut album by British synthpop duo Erasure, released in 1987. The album reached number six on the UK Albums Chart and spawned four singles, including the hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", which reached the UK Top 10 chart. The album was awarded a British Phonographic Industry (BPI) gold certificate in 1988.
