Ed Sheeran Album X, released in June 2014, was an instant success with critics and the market. The album debuted at number one in the United States and the United Kingdom and has since gone platinum in both countries. The album's lead single, "Sing", became a worldwide hit and topped the charts in several countries. The album's second single, "Don't", was also successful, reaching the top ten in several countries. The album's third single, "Thinking Out Loud", became a huge hit, spending ten weeks at number one in the United States and becoming one of the best-selling singles of all time. The fourth single from the album, "Photograph", was also successful, reaching the top five in several countries. Album X was well received by critics, who praised Sheeran's songwriting and musicianship. The album was nominated for Album of the Year at the 57th Grammy Awards, where it lost to Beck's Morning Phase.
