Eagles: Selected Works 1972-1999 version on 4CD/Box Set in Remastered edition. This particular edition was published in Europe in publishing company Rhino Records (2) on 7. January 2014.

This fabulous box set, originally released in 2000 (and discontinued in Germany as of January 2007), is now available in a reduced form in a CD package. Featuring the best tracks from the Eagles' albums and rarities in the studio, "The Selected Works 1971-1999" sums up the essence of the Eagles in 4 hours and as many CDs. The first CD, "The Early Days", features (surprisingly!) songs we're more familiar with from the Eagles' early days, "country rock" so to speak, here more often with an emphasis on "country". CD 2 is devoted to ballads, including classics like "Wasted Time" and the #1 hit "Take It To The Limit". The third disc contains rockier tracks including the hits "Life In The Fast Lane", "Heartache Tonight" and "One Of These Nights". Of course, the megahit "Hotel California" is also included. The fourth CD was recorded in Los Angeles at the Millennium concert and shows that the Eagles still had and have incredible live power. This CD features one of the best live versions of "Hotel California", the James Gang / Joe Walsh classic "Funk #49", two Don Henley hits "Dirty Laundry" and "All She Wants To Do Is Dance", Tom Waits' "Ol'55" and much more...
