The Nightfly was released in 1982 and is the debut solo album by Donald Fagen, produced by Gary Katz, who also produced Fagen's previous band Steely Dan. The Nightfly contains a mixture of jazz, rock and pop and includes the singles "I.G.Y." and "New Frontier." The album was a critical and commercial success and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
