Dead Kennedys released their third album Frankenchrist in 1985. The album was controversial because of its cover art, which featured a poster by H. R. Giger titled "Penis Landscape". The album was also controversial for its lyrics that criticized consumerism and government. Despite the controversy, the album was a critical and commercial success and is considered a classic punk album.
